Important information concerning the Honeywell VM3: new battery and software update required!

Honeywell has informed us that a battery change is required for some VM3 models. In addition, a software update is recommended. The update can be downloaded from the Honeywell support page.

The reason for the battery change is the defective battery cell of a manufacturer. This leads to excessive heat development and can cause damage to property and personal injury. Honeywell only used this battery cell in certain models of the VM3 and now uses a cell from another manufacturer. Affected units can be identified by the part number (P/N or SPN) on a label on the back of the unit. If the number ends with a 1, the unit is not affected. If the number ends with any another number or a letter, the battery should be replaced urgently.
