Description
Description
The Newland URF520 Solea is a high-performance fixed UHF RFID reader designed for applications requiring long read ranges, high speeds and reliable data capture. Based on an Impinj E710 RFID chip, it achieves a read range of over 14 metres and captures at least 900 tags per second. The output power is adjustable from 5 to 33 dBm, allowing the read range to be precisely tailored to the application – from tightly defined capture zones to large-scale RFID portals. Support for EPC Gen2 / ISO 18000-6C ensures compatibility with UHF tags from various manufacturers. Four TNC ports support the simultaneous operation of up to four external antennas, allowing multiple capture points to be covered with a single reader. The URF520 Solea automatically detects whether the connected antennas are present and functioning correctly. Data capture is available in both continuous real-time and trigger modes.
The integrated memory stores up to 1,000 of the most recently captured tags and filters out duplicates, ensuring that only relevant data is passed on. This makes the Newland URF520 Solea ideal for applications such as self-checkout, inventory management, warehousing, logistics and manufacturing. Ethernet, RS-232, RS-485, USB-B and an integrated GPIO interface provide flexible integration into enterprise and industrial environments. The inputs and outputs allow the RFID reader to be connected directly to sensors or machinery, automatically triggering scanning processes or initiating subsequent processes after a tag has been captured. Power is supplied via a DC power adapter, PoE or PoE+, meaning that, with the appropriate infrastructure, a single Ethernet cable is sufficient for both data and power. The IP53-rated aluminium housing and wide operating temperature range from -20 to +60 °C make the URF520 Solea well suited to reliable continuous operation.
