The Newland HR33 Marlin AI HC is a high-performance handheld scanner for demanding data capture processes in healthcare. Its white housing features an antimicrobial coating, making it well suited to hygiene-sensitive working environments. IP52 protection and drop resistance from heights of up to 1.8 metres provide the durability required for everyday use. For high scanning performance, the HR33 Marlin AI HC combines Newland’s UIMG technology with AI-powered barcode recognition. Computer vision and self-learning algorithms analyse captured images, locate barcodes and support reliable decoding – even with damaged or distorted codes and those on reflective or curved surfaces. The 1,280 × 800 megapixel CMOS sensor delivers high data capture performance and reads 13 mil EAN-13 barcodes from distances of up to 535 mm, for example. OCR and Digimarc support further expand its data capture capabilities.
The HR33 Marlin AI HC is available as either a corded or cordless Bluetooth version, offering a suitable option for both stationary workstations and applications requiring greater freedom of movement. The Bluetooth version features Bluetooth 5.0 with a range of at least 100 metres in open areas, a replaceable 2,600 mAh battery for at least 15 hours of continuous operation and memory for at least 16,384 barcode entries. Lua-based Advanced Scripting also provides individual customisation of barcode processing.
